Hi, Id vote for insulation. I have seen bricks layed in between framing. I believe it is called nogging or brick nogging. But yes, its odd that it only goes halfway. m.

Paul, I have the exact same problem that you have: brick house, 3/4 inch firring strips so only 3/4 inch cavity for insulation - except that I have sheet rock, not plaster. And I am also looking into insulating options, and trying to avoid tearing down the sheetrock and framing in with 2x4s. Did you...
