Thanks for the advice on the WeatherSide fiber-cement siding. Their Emphasis Siding is an exact replica of the asbestos siding I have on the addition to my 1910 four-square. I have a craftsman style house built in 1910. It has green, purple, and clay colored slate in the entry way, installed in an ashlar pattern. I suspect that this was installed in the 1960s, and is not original. Does anyone know if this type of slate would be original to a 1910s house?

does anyone know how to paint the slate siding on old houses. Mine has been painted, and we just pressure washed it a week ago. When I started painting, the paint blistered off quicker than I could put it on. I was told the house was still a bit wet........any ideas please? Thanks
